Understanding Active Recovery - Stage 5 of your recovery journey

The Reality of Active Recovery
A personal note about this stage
My dear friend on the recovery path,
Can I share something honest about what Stage 5 felt like during my GBS recovery? I was five months into my journey, attending outpatient rehabilitation. On paper, things were progressing - I could do more exercises, stay active a bit longer. But the reality was far more complex.
I remember working with my therapist on what seemed like a simple shoulder exercise. As I tried to engage my lats muscle, that familiar tension would creep in - starting in my shoulders, spreading across my upper back. Even though I could complete more repetitions than before (a clear sign of progress), I'd find myself wondering: "Am I pushing too hard? Could this set me back?"
